Unbelievable as it may seem, my co-workers at the Israel center have been supportive when the found out the name that I was born with. Kevin is cool, and Mogenstern is not always related to Rhoda. The co-workers are terrific.
I really do have a sneaking suspicion that many of my friends and people I simply know actually thought that I was bi or at least experimented at being gay. Many people read my blog and I guess word got around pretty quickly, and people seem to treat me differently. Alot of the guys before shied away from me in the office. And the girls were telling me about their love life, shopping, etc. Everything seems to have changed now. At least something positive came out of this blog. Just remember Calev Ben-David is straight.
Hey Folks, I have to get this off my chest. Yom Kippur has always been a difficult time for me. When I grew up in America, I was a bit spiritual and fasted on Yom Kippur. Pretty quickly, I realized that they don't like religous jews here and to move up the corporate world they want people who eat bread on Passover and a ham sandwich on Yom Kippur. Really wierd. At first, I fasted but told the "crowd" that I ate pork on Yom Kippur. As a writer at the Jpost, the boss invited me over his house and put a ham and cheese sandwich before me. I felt pressured to eat the sandwich. Soon afterwards, I got promoted to be editor. I guess that was my test.
Now, I don't know what to do, Calev Ben-David came to Israel to be a Jew, got lost for quite a while but is coming back. This Yom Kippur I, Calev Ben-David, actually fasted for the first time in years.
